Bliss W. Clark, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon with 25 years of experience in minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures, orthopedic trauma, and total joint replacement.  Having spent most of his professional career in Texas, Dr. Clark joined FCPP in 2011 with an office on the campus of Doctors Hospital of Manteca.  Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, he is currently on the medical staffs of Doctors Hospital of Manteca and Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.  Dr. Clark has held numerous professional leadership positions, including Vice President of the Medical Staff and Trauma Director of Valley Baptist Medical Center, Harlingen, TX, and Co-Founder of South Texas Physicians Alliance.

Dr. Clark is a graduate of Augusta College, in Augusta, Georgia, and the Medical College of Georgia.  He completed a general surgery internship at the Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA, in 1983, and served as a medical officer on Diego Garcia British Indian Ocean Trust during the following year.  In 1988 he completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Balboa Naval Hospital and served as Assistant Chairman of Orthopedics at the Naval Hospital in Long Beach, CA, from 1988-1990.

In 1990 he began an orthopedic surgery practice in Harlingen, TX, treating trauma patients, workers compensation patients, weekend warriors, as well as patients with chronic musculoskeletal conditions including osteoarthritis.  In 2011, he and his family moved to Northern California, where he became the first physician in the Manteca division of the FCPP.  Dr. Clark commonly treats trauma patients with fractures ranging from the simple to the most complex.  Significant attention is given to the comprehensive evaluation and care of geriatric patients with hip fractures.  Additionally, he performs reconstructive procedures on such conditions as non-unions of bones and mal-unions.  The proximity of Dr. Clark’s office to Doctors Hospital of Manteca facilitates the timeliness of the care that he can provide to patients in the emergency room.

He is currently offering his patients MAKOplasty Total Hip Arthroplasty, an innovative robotic system which allows him to achieve a heightened level of accuracy and precision using the newest techniques in total hip replacement.  Also, he serves as an adjunct instructor in the orthopedic residency program at Doctors Medical Center.
